Thanks Jon. Yes, some of the ideas that came up in the past sound bizarre to us now (such as bees emerging from the carcass of an ox, or even that bees are born out of flowers)! Thomas Hill was mainly reprinting what others had claimed and the truth of bee reproduction would still need to wait for a century or two, before we figured it out!
